One of the world’s largest religious events, Mahakumbh of 45 days, is concluded with the last sacred bath at the Sangam on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivaratri today. So far, more than 64 crore devotees have taken a dip of faith in this historic event. At the Triveni Sangam of Prayagraj, people of every section of the society earned virtue by bathing with reverence. Mahakumbh is not only a religious ritual, but also a grand confluence of Indian culture and eternal tradition. The administration has made special arrangements for security and facilities for the last bath to be held on the day of Mahashivaratri.

Arrangements like traffic management and no-vehicle zone are implemented to control the crowd in the fair area.

Devotees gathered in flood

On the occasion of Mahashivaratri, a large number of devotees are arriving at the confluence for the last bath. The administration has made extensive arrangements so that the bathing festival can be done peacefully and smoothly. Keeping in mind the security and traffic management, security arrangements have been strengthened in the pagoda and Mahakumbh region of the city.

Security agencies on high alert

All security agencies have been kept on high alert keeping in mind the huge crowd of devotees during the last bathing festival. The administration has directed that special security arrangements should be made in the fair area and major pagoda so that there is no disorder.

Special bathing for devotees

Keeping in mind the convenience of the devotees, the Mahakumbh police has prepared such a special bath plan so that they can take a bath at their nearest ghats. Special ghats have been set for devotees coming from different directions:

Pilgrim – Sangam Gate Airavat Ghat

Devotees coming from northern Jhunsi – Sangam Harishchandra Ghat and Sangam Old GT Ghat

Devotees coming from parade area – Bhardwaj Ghat, Nagwasuki Ghat, Mori Ghat, Kali Ghat, Ramghat and Hanuman Ghat

Devotees coming from Arail region – Sangam Gate Arail Ghat

Pantoon bridges will be operated according to crowd pressure so that devotees can bathe without any problem.

Fair area became no-vehicle zone

The fair area has been declared a no-vehicle zone for the convenience and smooth traffic system of the devotees. Prayagraj Police Commissioner Tarun Gaba said that the entry of any vehicle has been completely banned from 6 pm on Tuesday evening. The administration has appealed to all the devotees to follow the traffic rules and administrative guidelines so that the last bathing festival of Mahashivratri and Mahakumbh can be done peacefully and successfully.
