Alcatel, Acer – Alcatel Acer in Preparation for Strong Return in preparation for strong return

Many of the major global mobile brands, who have been covered their business due to never performing well in the Indian market, are now preparing to make a tremendous comeback with local partners. Despite the sales pace of smartphones in the country for some time, the license agreements with brands like Alcatel and Acer are renewed in India through license agreements.

In 2024, the sales of smartphones increased by just 1 per cent, while the first quarter of 2025 recorded a decline of 9 per cent. French company Alcatel and Taiwan -based company Acer Finland’s phone manufacturer HMD is going to partner with HMD. HMD has won the Nokia brand name from Microsoft. He started selling under his brand in the second half of last year and his market share is almost negligible.

Atul Vivek, Chief Business Officer of Nextsel India, said, “Our goal is to be one of the top three brands in two years. We will start with our offer in the price of 15,000 to 25,000 and later knock in every category of the market. We will remove our products across the country in the next 45 to 60 days.

Nextsel India is a domestic company that has got the authority from TCL Communications for the use of Alcatel brand in India and some other markets. It is a co-installed company by mobile phone sector veteran Madhav Seth. Seth also played an important role in establishing the Reality brand.

Acer is also not behind anyone. It launched two smartphones from April 15 through online platform Amazon, which is an initial price of Rs 9,900. Anand Dubey, CEO of Indicate Technologies said, “Our goal is to achieve market share in high single points in the next 36 months. We will undertake products within different prices which will also have premium products up to Rs 60,000. Indaccal Technologies has a brand license for the production and sale of smartphones.

But it will not be easy to make inroads in the market. Research Director of Counterpoint Research, Tarun Pathak said, “The country’s 96 percent of the smartphone market is dominated by the top 10 original equipment manufacturers. In such a situation, there is very little scope for a new player. But here they will need to make a separate identity, prepare easy user interfaces and hold competitive prices in the highest -selling category with the highest selling. The brand loyalty in this category is quite low, so any experiment can be done.
