Golden line tunnel construction

Construction of the 1.55 km long underground tunnel from Kishangarh to Vasant Kunj metro station has been successfully completed. The tunnel is part of the 19.34 km long underground corridor under the fourth phase of the Delhi Metro, which will connect Aerocity to Tughlakabad. This historical achievement was celebrated at the Vasant Kunj station site in the presence of Union Housing and Urban Affairs and Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Tokhan Sahu.

Tunnel construction from 91 meter long TBM

This tunnel was constructed through a tunnel boring machine (TBM), which is 91 meters in length. In this process, 1,107 tunnel rings have been installed, causing the internal diameter of the tunnel to 5.8 meters. The average depth of the tunnel is 23 meters, with the minimum depth reach 15.7 meters and a maximum of 30.2 meters. Parallel to this, another tunnel is also under construction, which is expected to be completed by June 2025.
