A case of rape of a 26 -year -old girl was reported on Tuesday morning at Pune’s busiest Swargate bus stand. In this meeting, along with reviewing the security arrangements of the Swargate bus depot in Pune, the security of all the bus depots of the state will also be reviewed. The opposition Shiv Sena (UBT) has protested in the matter.

Several teams have been formed to catch Dattatreya Ramdas Gade (36). According to media reports, the accused Dattatreya Ramdas Gade has 6-7 cases registered in Pune and Ahalyanagar, including theft, robbery, chhiniti. The police officer said that the Gade was out on bail in a crime since 2019. In 2024, a case of theft was registered in Pune against Gade, which was called to the police station. According to the police, the accused in CCTV is imprisoned. In such a situation, the police is checking the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the Swargate bus station and surrounding areas. Taking technical assistance to find and locate the accused’s clue. The person took him to an empty ‘Shiva Shahi’ AC bus parked in the station premises.
Deputy CM Ajit Pawar strict
Pune’s foster minister Ajit Pawar said that the incident is shameful, painful and outraged. The convict should be hanged. He said that the incident of rape at Swargate bus station is extremely unfortunate, painful, angry and shameful for everyone in a civilized society. This crime is not capable of forgiveness. There can be no less punishment than death in this. Ajit Pawar said that he personally instructed the Pune Police Commissioner to pay attention to the matter and investigate the accused immediately.
Called the woman as ‘Didi’, then raped
Pune’s Swargate Bus Depot is one of the largest bus depots in Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC). The victim woman works in the medical field. She has told that she was waiting for the clutter, Satara bus at around 5.45 on the morning of 25 February. During that time a man came to him and called him ‘Didi’ (Tai). The person said that Satara’s buses have come on another platform. After this, the accused took the woman to the AC bus ‘Shiva Shahi’ standing empty on any other platform of the station. The lights were closed in the bus. It was completely dark. So the woman was afraid to board the bus, but the accused tried to tell her again and again that this is the right bus. After being taken into the bus, the accused granted the woman and then ran away. Before escaping, he threatened the victim not to tell anyone about it.
