Metropolis Healthcare, with Mumbai headquarters, today said that it will acquire Dehradun’s leading Diagnostic Series – Dr. Ahujas Pathology and Imaging Center (DAPIC) in a cash deal of Rs 35 crore. This is the third acquisition of Metropolis in North India in recent months after Core Diagnostics (Delhi-NCR) and Scientific Pathology (Agra). Metropolis is eyeing second place in North India.
FY is looking for metropolis and more acquisitions in 2025 after two acquisitions in 2025 and now in the beginning of FY 2026. Amira Shah, the promoter and executive chairperson of Metropolis Healthcare, told Business Standard that she hoped that she would acquire another in this financial year. However, he did not comment on the deadline. He explained in detail that about 20 percent of the cash they earn every year are for working capital and about 20 percent to declare dividends.
He said, ’50 to 60 percent of it is available to us for acquisition. The plan is to continue to create cash from profit through better working capital and then re -invest in strategic markets where we feel that we can acquire at a good price.
On the question whether she was thinking of selling part of the holding of the encourages for the expansion of business or bringing a strategic investor, Shah said that if we were interested in selling business, we would have been maximizing the profit and not investing in laboratories and acquisitions. ‘
