US Vice President JD Vance on Tuesday warned world leaders and technical industry officials that ‘excessive regulation’ in the Artificial Intelligence Industry would end the rapid growing industry.
Vance said at the summit held in Paris on AI that the Trump administration will ‘ensure that the AI systems developed in the US are free from ideological prejudice’ and America would never restrained the right to freedom of expression of its citizens. ‘
He also said that the Trump administration is upset that some foreign governments are considering ‘clamping’ on international identified American technology companies. Vance said, “Now at this time we are facing the extraordinary possibility of a new industrial revolution, which is equivalent to the invention of the steam engine.” He said that a voice would be raised against the ‘excessive regulation’ of the rapidly growing AI industry. He said that this is expected to end this ‘transformational industry’.
Vance’s address is expected to challenge Europe’s regulatory approach towards artificial merit. Amidst the enthusiasm and concern over the strength of AI around the world, the Chairman of the European Union Commission Ursula von Der Leyen emphasized that, ‘AI needs people’s trust and should be made safe.’
He mentioned the guidelines of the European Union, whose aim is to determine how to implement the AI Act in a group of 27 countries. He said, “Also, I know that we have to make it easy and reduce red tape and we will do so.” Language
